My passion for fabric and design started at a very early age when I would spend hours rearranging my parents' furniture and cutting and sewing any scraps of fabric I could find (occasionally my mother's dresses -sorry Mum).
With dreams of becoming a fashion designer, I left college and went to work for an independent fashion label where I learned about pattern-cutting and experienced everything from design to packing. I loved taking a roll of cloth and seeing the creative process that took it from the roll to a beautiful finished item with form and function.
An opportunity to work for an interior design company came along and I was soon learning all aspects of design and curtain-making. Within six months, I was managing a small team of curtain-makers as well as managing design projects both residential and commercial.
I left the interior design practice to gain sales experience working for a bespoke furniture retailer - a young and dynamic company dealing with some of the best furniture and fabric suppliers in the UK.
From there, I spent seven happy years working for an exclusive French fabric company, selling exquisite embroidered silks and fine linen and working with some of the most talented designers in the industry.
With a yearning to get back to my creative roots, and with extensive industry experience, I started my soft furnishings business which is run from a purpose built workroom where we design and produce bespoke, hand-finished curtains, blinds and soft furnishings with my wonderful team of talented seamstresses
